Formstack Announcement: We’ve Changed Names!

If you went to Formspring.com today you may have noticed quite a big change…yes, we have changed names! We are now Formstack.

In November we launched a social Q&A platform called www.formspring.me. It has become hugely popular and has caused major confusion between the two products. We spun formspring.me out as a separate company in January with a different team and resources. But to allow both companies to continue their growth we decided on a name change for the form builder.

We are still focused on allowing you to create easy to use web forms with no programming as well as providing the best support possible.

You can access the new website at www.Formstack.com, access your forms at www.Formstack.com/admin, and access our new blog at blog.formstack.com. We also have a new Twitter account and would love for you to follow us at www.twitter.com/Formstack.

Let us know your thoughts about the new name in the comments below!

*Quick Update:  We did notice minor issues with the switch over this morning and we worked to address them as quickly as possible.  Everything should be stable and back to normal; however, if you do have any issues don’t hesitate to contact our support team.

It seems your focus is less on the forms part of the business than the social media part. Otherwise you would have kept the Formspring name for the forms and changed the name of the social media site.

What was your original thinking in using the Formspring name for both the forms and the social media site? Seems they serve distinctly different markets and you have spent several years creating the brand and name recognition with Formspring being associated with online forms.

Whatever the name, we still love the product and use it extensively on our site.

    Graham,

You are partly correct. Because of the rapid growth of formspring.me we were associated with the social media side. Because of its popularity we saw the need to differentiate the two products. Earlier this year the two were split into different companies so we could each focus on our respective apps.

The change to Formstack allows us to continue improving on the form builder and continuing to grow the business without confusion from the .me application. We think of this as an evolution in the form builder and will continue to provide an easy way for organizations to build forms and collect data online.

We are glad you are a fan and appreciate the feedback. We know it won’t be easy but we appreciate the support (and feedback) of our customers.

If you ever have any questions feel free to contact me directly chris AT Formstack.com

New name is okay but not great. Sorry, but I liked FormSpring and the name stuck with me. I am glad for the overwhelming success of FormSpring.ME it’s a great idea and nice product. I will continue to use FormStack (FormSpring) because its a great product. Keep up the good work. Does FormSpring.me still located in Indiana and have the same office kinda close to the einstein?

  4. Erica says:

    Aaron,

Thanks for the comment. Formspring.me is in San Francisco and Formstack is still in Indiana where we have always been.

  5. Markus says:

I am a bit disappointed, I liked the name and especially the logo was very innovative.
I hope you will continue to improve the form builder.

  6. Erica says:

    Markus,

Thank you for the feedback. What specifically would you like to see improved within the form builder tool?

  7. Cassie says:

It would be great if I could copy a section or field from one form to another form. Right now, I duplicate, rename and delete unnecessary fields from the original doc.
