Formstack Launches Embed Kit, Developer Central
Put our form builder inside your app
If you are looking for a way to bring the power of the Formstack form builder inside your web app or website, then the new Formstack Embed Kit is just what you’re looking for. With only minimal assistance from a developer, you can have an integrated form building solution available to your users powered by Formstack.
The Formstack Embed Kit is a Javascript library that allows users to insert a Formstack Field Guide into their websites using an iFrame. Field Guides are a simple step-by-step way to create forms (think form building wizard). The user selects one of six types of forms: an order form, donation form, contact form, contest form, volunteer form and job application form. From there, they are asked a series of questions that help them build the form interactively.
Once the user finishes the field guide, the Embed Kit returns all the information needed to start using the form right away. The form ID, HTML, JavaScript and Formstack URL can be processed by the web app or website owner and handled however they like.
This new feature is perfect for web developers and integration partners looking to expand their offerings with integrated form building functionality. Web Developers can now easily provide instant form building capabilities for their users by integrating the Embed Kit in their apps. The Embed Kit provides everything you need to build many popular types of forms and gives the Web Developer the flexibility to process the returned form any way they wish. This is an easy way to add a form layer, powered by Formstack, on top of your app and give your customers increased data capture capabilities.
For more information about how to use the Embed Kit as well as additional features, such as the ability to insert a user-selected button back into your web app or website, visit our new developers page at: http://www.formstack.com/developers/embedkit.
NEW! Developer Central is our redesigned documentation portal
We’ve given our developer documentation a complete overhaul and relocated it to formstack.com/developers. You can get detailed information on how to integrate with Formstack using our REST API, Embed Kit, and Webhooks. Our API documentation details our newly released version 2 of our API which now supports OAuth2 for authentication. The updated documentation covers all the possible arguments you can send and gives examples of what a proper API call and response looks like.
In addition, we’ve also added a test console to every API call that allows you to make live API calls in the browser (you must be logged in). This is a great way to test out calls to your own account quickly before writing a single line of code.
